Presero poi il nome di banche d'affari come la Banque de Paris et des Pays-Bas, l'Union Générale, ecc. , chiamate banche di deposito. Il primo fu il Comptoir d'escompte fondato nel 1853. Seguirono altri stabilimenti: Crédit Industriel et Commercial, Crédit Lyonnais (1863), Société Générale, ecc..
